John J. Browett (born 1963) is a British businessman who, among other positions, was a senior vice president of retail at Apple Inc, taking over from Ron Johnson. He joined the company in January 2012 and left in October 2012. Before joining Apple, he was a chief executive of electronics retail group Dixons from December 2007. He previously had been the chief executive of Tesco. Scott Forstall joined Apple in 1997 who was the senior vice president of iOS Software at Apple Inc. On Monday, 29th October 2012, Apple announced, via a press release, that John Browett would be leaving Apple and that a search for a new head of Retail was underway. This announcement was made less than a year from Browett taking up the post & Scott Forstall would be leaving Apple in 2013, and would serve as an advisor to Tim Cook until his departure. Forstall has recently come under fire after the failure of the new Maps app introduced in iOS 6. ( source online )
